Ways to Celebrate Earth Day Everyday

Every year Earth Day commences and every year a sea of posts, media, news, etc., tells us ways to take care of our beautiful Mother Earth and give her all that she deserves. The only downside is that after Earth Day is over, that energy dies down. While there’s definitely a feeling of burnout that many eco-activists and carers of the earth’s well-being can feel, there are ways to implement Earth Day celebrations on a daily basis and Sustainable Baddie is all about curbing climate anxiety. That being said, here are a few ways to celebrate our earth and not just on one day.

Volunteer where you can

You can always start small by volunteering in your community. There are community gardens in your neighborhood and park and beach clean-up initiatives. Volunteering in these spaces will help make your community greener and cleaner, and reminding you that there are so many others who also care. Start googling where these are happening and  how you can help!

Buy produce from local farmers

Local farmer's markets not only provide fresh options for fruits and veggies, but also celebrate the work cultivated by your community. Support those who help supply safer food, save energy and waste normally created by typical grocery stores, and create a place to get away and enjoy your town.

Try composting

Composting is a pretty cool process and through watching the natural process of organic substances breaking down, it can be a great reminder of the natural process that occur all around us. Use everything that’s been broken down like eggshells or banana peels to fertilize new plants and make for richer soil for the next plants to grow and prosper.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

We hear this all the time, every year, but it's super easy to implement on an everyday level and are a great way to honor the resources that it took to create these products. Try using reusable bags when grocery shopping. Think twice about printing out something out, maybe you can use an online payment option to reduce paper waste. Try recycling any old electronics, you know when you start charging your phone at a random angle it's time to recycle it. You can do this for free by going to your local stores or even manufacturers. That includes old tablets, cell phones, etc.
