8 Unique Halloween Costume Ideas For You and Your Friends

Gone are the days of fruit salad costumes, or box of crayons, or even Strawberry Shortcake and friends. Group costumes don’t have to sacrifice originality or complexity. We can be one-of-a-kind baddies while surrounded by 100 of our closest friends (or, in the case of this article, up to six). If you’re a solo baddie, we have a great list of costumes for you, but if you’re more of a move-in-a-pack type then you’ve come to the right place.

    • Pink dress, long pink scarf, bug-eye sunglasses. A Vespa helmet is a plus, but not required. 

  • Paulette BonaFonte from Legally Blonde

    • Denim skirt, denim vest, extremely high half-up pony, and comfort with the bend and snap.

    • Hot pink body con dress, feather boa, or a matching pink bathrobe. Extra points if you have tanning shades on hand.

  • I-climb-mountains guy 

    • Cargo pants, hiking boots, Patagonia half zip, flat lid baseball cap (ideally corduroy)

  • I-make-music guy 

    • Vintage band t-shirt (wrinkles helpful), light wash jeans with a really random rip, old Converse, and a few drawn-on tattoos. 

  • Tattoo-artist guy 

    • White t-shirt or tank top, Cargo pants, lots of self-drawn tattoos, two small hoop earrings

  • Poetry-writing guy 

    • Collared shirt, Irish chunky sweater, slacks, thick-rimmed glasses, carry a messenger bag for additional points. 

  • I-fish-guy 

    • Cargo pants, fleece, bucket hat, carry around a rubber fish.

    • Striped long-sleeved t-shirt, suspenders, corduroy pants, high ponytail.

    • Slouchy jeans or cargo pants and a striped t-shirt, bonus points for a rugby shirt.

    • White collared polo, silver chain, khaki pants

    • Cheerleading fit or Hot pink pants and a black tank top

GROUP 6: Sonny’s Angels

 
 

Might require a body suit or just dressing in skin-toned clothes and DIYing a hat or headwear of some kind. Can also include building a box around your body. 

  • Each friend can choose a different collection. You have animals, vegetables, flower gifts, marine life, fruit, sweets, and so many more!

 

GROUP 7: Iconic Stanley Tucci Characters

  • Paul Child in Julie and Julia 

    • Blazer, striped tie, and a big huge paper heart taped on the lapel. Glasses and a short mustache are optional but highly effective. 

  • Nigel in The Devil Wears Prada

    • Small circular dark-rimmed glasses, a turtle neck black sweater, and a black jacket or blazer with a semi-popped collar. Attitude required. 

  • Dill Pendergast in Easy A

    • Rectangular tortoise shell glasses, dark wash jeans, grey henley. Fatherly advice is suggested. 

  • Caeser Flickman in The Hunger Games

    • Purple hair and purple eyebrows, metallic or glitter suit jacket/blazer, purple button down, and a black tie. Microphone suggested. 

  • Stanley Tucci as himself 

    • The classiest outfit you can think of, an ascot or tie, dark-rimmed glasses, and maybe a wine glass in hand. Side-smirking all night is a MUST.

  • Boy Genius (The Record photoshoot-inspired)

    • Drawn on matching tooth tattoos (or get real ones), a variety of different black shirts and outfits. Matching each band member's aesthetics is crucial. 

  • Destinys Child (The Writing’s on the Wall-Inspired)

    • White crop tops, metallic lips, 90s-inspired accessories and hair looks. 

  • Cheetah Girls (Barcelona Edition)

    • Lots of low-rise denim, denim jackets, vests, and any cheetah print accessory that you own. Bonus points for pop star headband microphones.
