Everywhere we go, susty baddies, daddies, and zaddies (we’re sorry for that one), are breaking into new soles and strutting the streets, the trails, and the tracks, in the sickest sneakers. Sneakers are no longer delegated to just a sporty few or your local hype beast; these days, everyone is looking to drip with a new pair of kicks. From the work-from-home baddies to the service industry cuties to the dad next door, we are all on the hunt for the sneakers that best fit our vibes and our lifestyle. (And of course, susty baddies don’t need 500 pairs—one true sneaker love will do!) So where should you go to find the freshest trainers? Let’s introduce you to some of our favorite susty brands:

1. Rombaut Sneakers

Rombuat makes vegan sneakers using plant-based and recycled materials, as well as artificial leather. Their designs are made in small batches to appeal to a conscious consumer base. Their sneakers evoke futuristic, bold aesthetics that are perfect for increasing your coolness factor.

2. Saye Sneakers

Saye makes colorful, susty, everyday sneakers that will make you feel like the cool samba-wearing baddie you aspire to be (but this time the susty way). Saye sneakers are vegan and made from bio-based and recycled materials – not plastic. They are also committed to giving back, working with organizations on reforestation projects and planting trees for every two pairs of shoes sold.

3. Allbirds Risers

Allbirds is a sneaker brand that strives to be not only carbon neutral but climate positive by 2025. They make their sneakers using organic, bio-based materials that are renewable and produced using regenerative agriculture methods. These Allbirds Risers are great everyday shoes that will support you on your walk to work, on your office walk-a-thon, or just to the grocery store.

4. Salomon – specifically the Index, which is a 100% recyclable shoe

It seems like all the coolest people we know are working Salomons lately, and that's probably because the coolest people we know are also sustainable baddies. Salomon is a susty sneaker brand that makes shoes for everyone from the mountain trail hiker to the barista at your favorite coffee shop. Salomon is committed to making climate-friendly products using a circular model, which includes recycled and renewable materials that are meant to last. The Index shoe is their first 100% recyclable running shoe, and they are continuing to expand that line to include more recyclable sneakers for all!

5. Hoka x Cotopaxi collab

Hoka, a popular sneaker and athletic wear brand, teamed up with the super susty gear and outdoor brand Cotopaxi to make these super sick collab sneakers that we are obsessed with. These intentionally gender-neutral shoes transition from the hiking trail to your morning commute. The Cotopaxi-Hoka collab is something in between a running shoe and a hiking boot. They are made with recycled materials and PFC-free water-resistant material too. Even better? The proceeds from these shoes go back to support LGBTQ+ organizations.

6. Thousand Fell

Thousand Fell’s big mission as a brand is to reduce the number of shoes that fill up our landfills. Their cyclical model means that when you get tired of your susty sneakers, you can return them to Thousand Fell where they will refurbish them, utilize the leftover materials, or donate them. If you’re in the market for a classic and comfy white sneaker with a bit of personality, Thousand Fell is the place to go. The timeless style and the durable quality make these shoes long-lasting too.

7.
Veja Sneakers

Using sustainably-sourced natural materials to make their 100% vegan lifestyle shoes, Veja is a must-add when discussing susty shoe brands. They have been making their sleek everyday sneakers from recycled plastic, organic cotton, and Amazonian rubber since 2005. If you are looking for a staple sneaker, this is the brand to check. If you are looking for something with a little personality, you’re in luck; Veja stocks tons of styles and colors too.

8. Good Guys

Good Guys are simply being good guys out here in the susty sneaker world. Making vegan sneakers using organic cotton and Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 certified materials, Good Guys has some of the most unique and fun kicks on the market. This European brand makes a variety of different sustainable shoes that are timeless and modern, but their Felix running shoes are our personal favorite; Bright, vibrant, and susty—just like us.
