4 Beauty Essentials for the Bare Faced Baddie

The bare minimum at work on a 90 degree day ☀️

This summer I’m stripping down my makeup routine to the bare minimum. The heat is on full blast, and after a long day, my mascara is giving a 90’s grunge look I wasn’t going for. So, besides the necessary SPF (looks at you over my glasses to make sure you’re rubbing it in well), here are four beauty essentials by sustainable clean beauty brands that will keep a clean glowy face under the summer sun.

If you’re like me, then your eyebrows have a mind of their own and tend to curl, sway, and dance with the elements. This aloe-based brow and lash mascara by Australian-based and Latinx-owned beauty brand, Ere Perez, helps to hold my brows in place and give my lashes a little more volume. If you’re a thin haired beauty, the aloe based-gel helps lashes and brows to grow and shine!

California-based clean beauty brand, Tower 28, is focused on creating products for people with sensitive skin. I love using the ShineOn Lip Jelly in the clear shade Chill to add a non-sticky gloss to my lips. It is so moisturizing and adds the perfect amount of shine. Their You Can’t Sit With Us List ensures their makeup is non-toxic, non-irritating, vegan and cruelty free.

The Revealer Super Creamy and Brightening Concealer by Kosas is currently my go to concealer. Not only does Kosas adhere to clean standards, but their makeup also uses nourishing ingredients with skincare benefits. I’ll apply the concealer to my under eyes and blemishes to make it look like I didn’t just crawl out of bed and throw on Emma Chamberlain's effortlessly chic look. The eyes are the nipples of the face so let’s bring them out a bit!

Occasionally, I like to scrap the undead look and add a flush of color to my face. The NOTO Botanics Multi-Bene Stick is perfect for adding a natural blush to your lips and cheeks.  NOTO Botanics mission is to create multi-use gender inclusive cosmetics made of high quality clean ingredients. I like to add a thin layer of the shade Oscillate to my cheeks to brighten my face but you can also build the color for a more vibrant look.
